Hey LiA, I'm right there with you sharin' the love for Ally Pally 9-11-74. It would be my first choice for top Euro '74. The seastones->eyes->wharf rat sequence always intrigues me, and with each new listen, it still sounds fresh with the several unpredictable jams and moments of deep space.
Granted, the oft-maligned seastones is not for everyone, but for those that have not gone there, this date's rare sequence is about as 'listener friendly' for a seastones jam as it gets - the seagulls always bring a smile ...

The seastones->dark star->morning dew always draws me in with it's sheer power and emotion. Love the way the dark star begins in and flows seamlessly out of that bauhaus foundation of seastones, with Jerry, Bill and then Keith each wading in at different moments to add their impressionistic colours to that commanding intro, creating a strong dark star in a year where that piece was rare.
It's easy to blow off these seastones performances - this is difficult listening for the uninitiated - understandably not for everyone (for madmen only???), but those that appreciate what Phil, Ned and the band were saying musically at those relatively few gigs, their patience will hopefully be rewarded.

Yes, I love the way that Dark Star on 10/18 sort of oozes out of formlessness - the whole suite seems darker & more emotional or 'primal' than the usual Dark Star>Dews.
I also really liked the Seastones>Playing from 9/21, probably just because I'm a sucker for any Lagin/Garcia jam (rarely heard, even in '74). I don't remember the rest of the show. 9/20 was pretty disjointed...
It's notable that they didn't play the Other One at all in the Europe tour. (The Other One became almost as rare as Dark Star in '74.)

I plan on listening to both 9-10 & 9-11 again, as I'm only familiar with DP 7, which doesnt have that spacey sequence you reference. I'm not the biggest fan of shows that are too spacey, so I'm not sure I'll change my mind, but I'm anxious to hear what you guys are raving about. I still think that 9-21 is an excellent show, no comparison to the 20th which was a major disappointment.

I'm in complete agreement with you on that sequence being 'darker and more emotional' than the others. I've often thought that, with these 10/74 winterland shows being the band's last for ... who knows when (at that time), the band had to be thinking - and showing it in their playing - that they could be playing these iconic dead classics for the last time live . . . heavy thoughts with years of memories and tons of emotion at play here, and it shows.
LiA, now that you've confessed to being 'a sucker for Lagin/Garcia jams', I'm hoping you can help me locate a recording of 7-25-74 from The International Amphitheater in Chicago.
I used to have a decent tape that I recorded myself from the 3rd row in front of Phil. It was in a box with several live tapes that was stolen from my car along with a one pound bag of catnip that I had bought earlier that day at the coop - for my brother who needed it for some kind of high school science fair project. The nogoodnics had hours of great recordings and a whole pound of catnip to smoke with their friends while listening. I used to wonder, with wry smiles, how many headaches they must have gotten before they figured it out

Well, as the Seastones is missing even from the Miller source here, I can't help with that.
The Taper's Addendum notes that the Seastones was missing from both the circulating SBD and the known (poor) AUD that came out, so perhaps we'll never hear it!
Now I'm the one wondering what became of your old audience tapes! A good AUD of that show would be really nice to hear. Went in some dumpster long ago, probably...
